Peter's Three (3) Denials of Christ and Three Boastful Statements in the Gospel Accounts ________________________________ Why the Accounts in Luke, John, Matthew, and Mark Differ on What Jesus and Peter Said When Peter Proclaimed His Loyalty to Christ When Simon Peter proclaimed his loyalty to Jesus just before Jesus Christ’s unjust trial, Peter actually proclaimed his loyalty three different times. Twice, he proclaimed his loyalty to Jesus prior to Jesus and His disciples leaving to go to the Mount of Olives (in John and Luke’s Gospel accounts). After they had left to go to the mount, Peter again proclaimed his loyalty to Christ (in Matthew and Mark’s Gospel accounts). The accounts in Matthew and Mark are nearly identical and happen after Jesus and His disciples go to the Mount of Olives. BELOW IS A POST FROM MY OTHER BLOGS The Profound Love of God for Us and How Only Jesus Christ Satisfies Us ( Print ) Philippians chapter 4, verse 1 reveals a profound truth about God’s love for us, which God put into the heart of Paul for the church at Philippi. Philippians 4:1 --   “[1] Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.” [End quote] In Philippians 1:8, Paul wrote this: Philippians 1:8 -- “[8] For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ . ” [End quote]          { Note : Paul longed after them in the nature of the deep, compassionate, yearning love of Jesus Christ. ( Bowels refers to deep love, yearning, earnest desire, deep feelings).
