Finding the Combination - A Problem-Solving Game (PART 2)

PART 2

This is a  blog-based   problem-solving game that involves some thinking, but it is designed to be fairly straightforward. It is somewhat similar to popular problem-solving games.

We begin this game with you as the trusted butler of Dr. James Granite's large mansion and estate. Dr. Granite is a very wealthy businessman and landowner. And, he has many greedy enemies. It just so happened that his security was breached (broken through) and an intruder had entered his opulent (wealthy) mansion. You will need your thinking cap to help Dr. Granite solve a problem.

(Slide 3. Click on this link to enlarge the above image.)

Note 1.   As you open the safe, you find (to your astonishment) that the plans are missing from Dr. Granite's safe. In its place, you see a sheet of paper (sheet #1) with writing on it.

Note 2.   Inside the safe are the torn remains of a dictionary. Only some shredded portions of pages remain of the vandalized dictionary.

Note 3.   On the opposite side of the letter from Dr. Snorkelheim, you see a long list of locations both within Dr. Granite's mansion and outside his mansion in Johnsonville, the town where Dr. Granite lives and works.

Note 3.1.   We must find the correct location where Dr. Snorkelheim hid Dr. Granite's plans. The dictionary words WASH, UNDER, -ER, and DISH must somehow give us a hint as to where Dr. Snorkelheim hid the plans.

Snorkelheim's Letter.

"I  took  the  plans. Ha  Ha.  Ha.   If    you   wish    to   find  them ,  you   will   have   to    solve    this     impossible    riddle. But, you will first have to figure out which riddle I am speaking of."

Riddle #1: "How   much   wood    could    a    woodchuck chuck   if    a    woodchuck    could     chuck   wood?"

Riddle #2: "If you want to know its place, think of words, orders, letters, and space."

Riddle #3: "What is black and white and (read / red) all over?"

"You only have 3 hours to solve the riddle before I return for the plans. When I return, I will take the plans and sell them to an evil organization that is plotting to take over the world. Here is a hint -- the dictionary will help you with the riddle."

"Sincerely, Dr. Snorkelheim.

P.S. The plans are not too far from where you are." [End of Letter]
